CH4 RateCoefRatio

)is the methane conversion rate, considered to be a unique value for all the soil. This simplification has been already introduced in some existing models (Bhattacharya, 1994), (Huang, 1998), while others (Van Bodegom, 2001), (Grant, 1998) use different conversion rates for the different soil organic matter pools.

 is the decomposition rate of each soil carbon content C_i, calculated as a first order rate process. Index i means litter (see k_{l RateCoefLitter 1}) and humus (k_{h RateCoefHumus}) pool respectively.
