Reduction of potential transpiration

When evaporation of intercepted water, E_ia, takes place the potential transpiration rate, E_tp is reduced based on the assumption that evaporation and transpiration are complementary in time:

where e_rat is the ratio between potential evaporation rate from interception storage and potential transpiration. This reduced value of potential transpiration is used to calculate water uptake.
